International businesses turn to Happy Valley vendors for a variety of solutions. They know that — whether it’s a machine sensor necessary to keep a paper mill up and running, or face masks to help a food manufacturer weather the COVID-19 pandemic — they can look to Happy Valley for someone who can help solve their problems.

But don’t take our word for it. Hear it from the mouths of those who benefit from (and provide) the solutions that make the world run.

Actuated Medical: Masks with a Difference

This year, Actuated Medical turned its attention briefly away from producing amazing medical technology and to the COVID crisis and how it could help. The company has been busy working on face shields for industries and populations with various needs that can’t be met with traditional face masks. Here’s what a few clients had to say:

“Here at Nestle, we have over 1,300 employees, some with bump caps and hard hats, and these face shields from Actuated Medical are the best option we’ve tried. They last through repeated uses and have better visibility than other brands.” – Dennis Draleau, occupational health nurse, Nestle Prepared Foods

“This face shield is more comfortable than wearing a mask. I forget I’m wearing it… which prevents me from touching my face. After wearing it, I remove it, wipe it with disinfectant and it is ready for the next day.” – Gwen Callahan, high school math teacher

“These face shields are some of the best that I have ever used! They have very clear optics and do not fog up. I can even fit my dental loops under them, which is critical for my work. They are easy to disinfect, which is particularly helpful right now, and are also longer and wider than normal shields, providing greater coverage. I got two to try them out initially, but being so satisfied, I decided to order an additional 10 shields.” – Dr. Raya Ben Dor, dentist

Videon Central: A Surprising Solution

According to Todd Erdley, CEO of Videon Central, when he speaks to potential clients about Happy Valley, he gets a similar response from each… but they soon realize that Happy Valley is the best place to go for top-tier engineering and manufacturing.

"When people hear about Videon being in State College as a high-tech video company, they are confused. But as we talk about the longevity of the company and our access to great talent in engineering and manufacturing, they quickly change their attitude. Our customers and partners have come to appreciate the wealth of talent, its commitment and the ability to balance work with a great location that enables life to be far easier versus places like Silicon Valley,” he says.

After Videon’s technology enabled a livestream of an important production, Dau-Hsiong Tseng, Taipei Opera’s music director stated, “I told everyone in Taiwan this: Rexcel from Japan and Videon from America gave our performance two wings to fly. And fly it did…[It] landed in Spain’s Andalusia, where Manuel de Falla was born, and caught the attention of an Andalusia conductor who is one of the principal conductors at the Ballet Nacional de España and a proponent for Falla’s music. Thanks to this livestream, he was able to witness our production’s serious approach and respect for Falla’s masterpieces even though Taiwan is thousands of miles away from Andalusia, and naturally we became good friends. Livestream brought miracles beyond imagination. Thank you, Rexcel. Thank you, Videon.“

KCF Technologies: It Feels Like Winning the Super Bowl

When it comes to KCF Technologies, which provides sensor technology to the manufacturing and energy industries, the brand isn’t just a product — it’s a partnership, something that its clients feel acutely. Here’s what their clients have said:

“Besides the fact that they have a good product that is constantly improving, the thing that really sets KCF apart is their monitoring services and customer support. Unlike other companies, KCF doesn’t just sell a product and walk away. They work with you to monitor your machinery.”
– Glatfelter Reliability Manager

“Thanks, Ben. You were the reason they selected us for this award, so I am very grateful to you. I wish you were in town last week to attend the reception. I remain proud of the work that we accomplished, but even more thankful that the whole team (PdM guys, reliability team and KCF) was able to share in the evening. Most of our folks have never been part of anything like that. It felt like we won the Super Bowl.” – Glatfelter Reliability Manager, honored as a manufacturing innovator for use of KCF technology

“I’ve been in the field of condition-based monitoring for 20+ years and this has been the most rewarding implementation. We started out with a 24-sensor starter kit and have grown to a approximately 150 sensors over the past year.” – Dan Warren, CBM Analyst and team leader at Dow Corning
