Edge computing leader Videon just announced that it has raised an additional $9 million, bringing total investment in the past seven months to $16.3 million. This new funding, which is led by Alter Venture Partners with participation from Voyager Capital, Fortson VC, Bruce Chizen, and Cercano Management, will drive even more innovation in Videon’s next-generation video edge computing platform.
Videon CEO Tricia Iboshi says that enabling their customers to get live video over the internet is only the start of the story. “We’ve spent the last 6 months working with industry leaders across the video ecosystem to unlock the potential of edge computing to deliver new experiences, drive greater efficiencies, and create more opportunities for personalization and monetization. The latest funding will enable us to continue to innovate, adding more video applications, enabling disruptive workflows and driving live video at scale.
“Live video streaming continues to see exponential growth across everything from news and sport to security, emergency services, and corporate content, with the live streaming market estimated to be worth $4.26 billion by 2028.”
Videon’s edge computing technology allows users to build unique live streaming experiences, including multiple camera angles, AI, and image and speech recognition. It powers tens of thousands of hours of live video for viewers in 19 countries, and that number continues to grow.

Even with this rocketing growth, Videon’s President and Founder Todd Erdley says that live streaming is only seeing the beginning of its massive potential … and with this new funding, Videon will take it to its next step. “By revolutionizing live streaming and allowing end users to create increasingly personalized viewing experiences, Videon is creating a positive impact on culture. The company is helping people to connect and communicate with live streaming in a brand new way, and at an unrivaled price point. We’re unleashing the potential of creating and distributing live video for everyone.”
