With the cost of living increasing and economic uncertainty affecting more families, the need for the State College Food Bank continues to grow. As that need grows, critical federal programs are being cut. Recent USDA decisions have eliminated funding for two major programs that enabled food banks to purchase fresh, local food from nearby farms. For our community, this means fewer resources for fresh produce, dairy, and proteins—just when families need them most. Every dollar delivers meals directly to the doorsteps of seniors and individuals with disabilities or recovering from illness or injury; ensures that special dietary needs are met; and provides vital human contact that eases loneliness and isolation.
