Bellefone’s Bonfatto’s Italian Market and Café recently announced the creation of the Guy & Pauline Bonfatto Memorial Scholarship at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, which will be awarded to a graduating senior planning to pursue further education in the culinary arts with an entrepreneurial focus. The fund is established through the Centre Foundation. Bonfatto’s customers can support the fund by rounding up their total at checkout, or by making a direct donation.
The Bonfatto family’s culinary legacy began with Guy and Pauline Bonfatto in 1919 when they opened their small Italian market in Bellefonte. For more than three generations the Bonfatto family worked to evolve the business, which exists today as a thriving local Italian cafe and specialty food business, and a beloved tradition in the Bellefonte community.

The fund was created by Guy and Pauline’s grandson, David Letterman, and his wife, Sheri, in honor of Guy and Pauline’s entrepreneurial spirit and hard work. The scholarship will support passionate culinary students with an entrepreneurial drive as they embark on a culinary career.
