Founded in 1966 by teachers Gwen Bunnell and Linda Domin, Grace Lutheran Preschool began as Grace Lutheran Nursery School, addressing the need for preschool options in the area and supporting Penn State’s non-resident graduate students with kindergarten-aged children. The program emphasized social and emotional development and learning through play, featuring classroom learning centers, field trips, a Christmas concert, nature-based science, parent conferences, and tuition assistance. Five decades later, Grace Lutheran Preschool still thrives, maintaining its founders' core belief that learning should be a joyful and engaging experience for every child.
