The Chamber of Business & Industry in Centre County (CBICC) is gearing up to unveil a roadmap for smart economic growth in the region. An effort that’s been more than a year in the making, and that the Chamber says differs from anything done in the county in the last two decades, the long-awaited, new Economic Development Strategic Plan will offer a comprehensive, holistic approach to bringing Centre County into its full potential.
“The Economic Development Strategic Plan represents a shared vision for our region’s future over the next five to 10 years,” explained Todd Dolbin, vice president of economic development at the CBICC. “It incorporates over 150 different perspectives and establishes focus areas, goals and action items that we, as a community, can pursue together…”
The CBICC will present the plan and next steps at an Oct. 9 “Voice of Business” event held at the Penn Stater, alongside special speakers such as Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi; Centre County Commissioner Mark Higgins; Ben Kirshner, Governor Shapiro’s Chief Transformation and Opportunity Officer; and Luke Bernstein, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
“Our upcoming Voice of Business event is significant for the CBICC, our partners and the entire Centre County community,” added Greg Scott, president and CEO, CBICC. “We look forward to celebrating years of accomplishments, unveiling the product of months of strategic planning and charting a path for smart economic growth in Centre County. Everyone in our community is welcome to attend the event on October 9. We encourage those interested to register on our website and get involved in this exciting initiative.”
