Coming off a series of successful research and test trials in the golf course industry, the company is primed and positioned to expand into new markets and to hire for this newly-created position Marketing and Communication Specialist!

The individual hired for this position will assume ownership of and perform all marketing tasks, becoming an indispensable partner in all areas of the business, helping to communicate the company mission, vision, products, and technology across all channels of trade. The Marketing and Communication Specialist also serves as a liaison to consumers and the general public.

Among other responsibilities, this position provides support by planning, writing, developing, distributing, and/or maintaining the following: advertising/promotional activities, website design/changes, sales collateral, marketing literature, social media channels, email and direct mail campaigns, blog posts, newsletters, and journalistic-style news. Work assignments are often performed with limited direct supervision and often, where only limited standardization exists; therefore, the Marketing and Communication Specialist must have the skills and abilities to identify and implement process and/or systems improvements to achieve a defined outcome. The Marketing and Communication Specialist also performs other tasks to support the Sales Team and other staff, including, but not limited to coordinating exhibition and attendance at trade shows/events, designing and producing pitch decks and presentations, translating research data into usable sales information and conducting customer discovery research.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas: • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously • Ability to collaborate and build strong working relationships with others, especially using digital, phone, and video technologies • Ability to work independently, learn new skills quickly, and take initiative • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and assume personal ownership of marketing activities and outcomes • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including mastery of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax and tone • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form • Adept at content development and writing about technical and complex topics across a broad spectrum of turfgrass, agronomy, horticulture, and agriculture areas

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Day-1 Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word) and Adobe CS Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or Communications from an accredited university or college • 3 years of experience in marketing for an agriculture/agronomy/turf or like industry • Working knowledge and regular use of social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. • Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company. Also requires a valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, the ability to drive to and from prospective and current accounts or other business engagements is an essential duty. • Occasional, less frequent, regional or national travel may also be necessary; must be able to travel by common carrier air and/or train; this is also an essential duty. • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards
